Trust in the Lord

Do we trust enough?  Do we have that sort of relationship with the Lord the we can trust Him totally and completely?

Perhaps you are going through the deepest of depression and you can see no way out.   Maybe you have been given news by your doctor that your time on this earth is now fairly short.  You could have received a bill through the post that you know you simply can’t pay and it means financial disaster for you.  All of these situations hit us during our lives and what do we do about it? Now that IS the question.  I can promise you, you are not alone in your suffering.

My father-in-law used to tell me that being a Christian was just having a crutch because I didn’t want to face up to life without some help.  I used to say to him, “if Christianity is nonsense then what is the crutch doing?”  You see beloved, I can say this without any equivocation, JESUS HAS CHANGED MY LIFE.

We all need a comfort and a support in our lives, but there is no one greater than the Lord Jesus Christ.  Let’s take a quick look at scripture for a moment, for this really is God’s word. It’s the way our Lord talks to us.  Proverbs chapter 3 and verses 5-6 says these words,

Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.’

You see, I believe the most important part of this verse is ‘and lean not on your own understanding’.  It is the way of the world to ‘lean on our own understanding’, that means figuring stuff out for ourselves, sometimes on our own. But the Lord is saying don’t do that. Do not figure your financial problem yourself because you can’t. The Lord is saying to you “I know the plans I have for you, I can see the BIG picture, you are seeing things the way you see them, I see them from Celestial eyes and have that overview. Why? Because I invented you. I planned your life, that’s why.  I am the creator, the inventor.”   That is why it is so important for us all to Trust in the Lord.

I can promise you this, if you trust Him and love Him and make Him your Heavenly Father, I can make you a personal guarantee that your life will totally change in a way you could never ever imagine.
